As many readers know and TCR knows is that incremental progress is still progress. The spending fight in DC has just begun and the GOP is winning the debate.
Harris County Commissioners led by County Judge Ed Emmett and Commissioners Radack, Eversole & Morman dealt with the tough economic times by reducing next year’s county budget by $138 million.
We have so much to be thankful for the Presidency and legacy for the GOP, conservatives and the country because he was President for 8 years.
TCR Comment: A recent editor of The Economist went into details about the public pension crisis facing our states and local governments, including Texas.
The GOP legislative caucus Monday voted overwhelmingly for Speaker Joe Straus. One of his opponents, Warren Chisum, endorsed Straus and on Tuesday, the House elected Straus overwhelmingly.
There is much to be thankful for this year. A conservative resurgence is occurring in the land as citizens are waking up to the false promises of liberalism.
TCR has watched with interest the developments in the Texas Speaker’s race since the great GOP victory in November.
With Harris County, Texas leading the way the GOP tsunami swamped every Democrat in its path.
The Houston Chronicle’s editorial board endorsements used to command respect. It used to be the entire high command that met with candidates and the endorsements were taken seriously and were intellectually consistent.
