Houston City Council At-Large 2

Speaking of District G…
Mary Nan Huffman’s Democrat Allies Throw
Fundraiser for the District G Incumbent

In an effort to protect District G incumbent and Democrat ally Mary Nan Huffman, Democrats showed up in force with checkbooks in hand to attend a fundraiser hosted by her fellow liberals Abie Kamin, Letitia Plummer (infamous for her desire to defund the police) and Carolyn Evans-Shabazz. Huffman, who appeared giddy to accept liberal cash, snubbed the Harris County Republican Party by skipping their Fall Fundraiser featuring Congressman James Comer and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick to attend the liberal soiree.
Huffman has been a reliable ally of Mayor Sylvester Turner and the liberals on Houston City Council, voting for two tax increases and welcoming two low-income housing projects into District G, which explains their desperation to keep the incumbent.
In Case You Missed It…
Jackson-Lee Urges Vote on the Wrong Day
In a television commercial that ran on the major broadcast networks in Houston by Mayoral candidate Sheila Jackson Lee, voters were encouraged to vote on December 7. The problem is that the last day of Early Voting was December 5 and Election Day is December 9, which means any voter who followed SJL’s instruction could vote for no one, least of all the confused Mayoral candidate. This is just one more piece of evidence, in a voluminous stack, of why Mrs. Jackson-Lee should not hold the top spot at Houston City Hall.
And if you need more reasons to get out and vote December 9th, listen to the Congresswoman’s profanity-laden rant berating a staffer. Click here to listen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfGUCRGyp3o
Please get out and vote for John Whitmire to keep SJL and all her gaffs, grandstanding and tyranny out of government, once and for all.

Please Remember Israel as the Conflict Rages On
It has been two months since the terrorist organization Hamas brutally attacked the unsuspecting people of Israel who were mostly civilians. Over 15,000 people have been killed in the conflict that continues to rage. In addition to those killed, several hundred Israelis have been taken hostage.
- TCR encourages its readers to support the Israeli people in the following ways:
- Keep the Israeli people in your thoughts and prayers, especially those still held hostage.
- Contact your representatives in Congress and urge them to support military aid for Israel and humanitarian aid for Palestinians.
- Visit and share https://www.blueribbonsforisrael.org/bring-them-home to learn more about Israelis held hostage.
- Make a financial contribution to the Jewish Federations of North America by clicking here.
- Wear a blue ribbon to draw attention to the issue www.blueribbonsforisrael.org
Please do not let this conflict and the people of Israel be forgotten.
It Is Time to Restore Accountability and
Common Sense in U.S. Culture and Politics
By Brian Ettinger
I am concerned our society is heading down a course of no moral conduct for the decisions and actions taken by individuals.
1) The education system has failed and needs to be overhauled to teach mutual respect for each other and their points of view. Get back to teaching basic courses such as, reading, writing, math, science, and technology. Stop all the politicalization of our education system.
2) Criminal conduct needs to be held accountable and that means from a shoplifter to murderer. There needs to be accountability for one’s actions.
3) Long Positions of Power leads to corruption so our elected officials need term limits of three (3) two-year terms for Congress Members, two (2) six year terms for a U.S. Senator, and one (1) six year term for President. The Judiciary needs a 12-year term limit and no more than 12 years no matter if on different courts levels. If you cannot get your agenda done during this time limit, you need to move on. Take the money out of the political system and have real hard caps on raising and spending campaign funds. Media gives equal time to each candidate. No more elections under a cloud so go back to requiring signatures and producing ID with photo to vote which could be by in-person voting, early voting in-person and mail in voting with proper identification. Our voting system needs to be totally transparent to show the election results are totally secure and fair accountable results. We should know the results the night of the election, not days later.
4) Our country needs to openly show our history, good or bad aspects, not change history to suit your views and censorship is bad unless it leads to violence which will lead to criminal prosecution. The victim is the person whose rights need to be protected, not the criminal.
5) Social media and AI technology needs to be held accountable for misinformation or political bias they put out which affects our society. The laws need to catch up with these technologies and AI and need restrictions put on its use. I am against censorship but recognize certain limits should be placed on free speech that creates violence or hate speech. These social media platforms need to be accountable and lose their license or ability to display content if found to be misinformation, false, or cause criminal or hateful conduct. They cannot hide behind having no liability as just a platform.
6) Our society is in the midst of having a massive dilemma of adverse views from left to right and cannot find any common ground which is leading to a divided broken country and in the past would come together for a crisis but not sure it will be able to do so in its current state. Just look at the Israel-Hamas war and see how the college students and pro Hamas protesters react on a point of view that the State of Israel is the bad party and gives Hamas a pass even though it killed 1200 Israeli Civilians, women, children, and elderly people and the violence it causes. This violence got out of hand after Michael Brown “hands up, don’t shoot” or George Floyd, moral humanitarian, who had a long arrest record and did drugs and never paid child support, but we honored him, had killings, caused riots, burning of businesses, defunding the police when we needed a stronger law enforcement presence. If you destroy a business or property or kill a person or law enforcement officer, then you go to jail without bail and get locked up until trial with long prison sentences. The criminals need to know there are severe consequences for their actions. No more accepting criminal conduct. This lack of respect by our minors will not be tolerated anymore, kicked out of school, or arrested and locked up. I do not care if a 13-year-old kills or hurts another person, we hold them accountable along with the minor’s parents. Without real leadership our country is done. When I say kick them out of school for their actions I mean from universities and high school because they do not deserve to be in school and lose their rights to an education.
Lastly, one thing we need to insist on is the birth right of illegal aliens coming to our country and having a baby who automatically is given U.S. Citizenship. This needs to be changed as they should not give the illegal alien or child rights just because they have an anchor baby. They should not be entitled to any public benefits and should be deported. My view is it will not take a constitutional amendment to make this change as Congress has the power to pass laws based on our national security, public benefits, and accountability for who is in our country. I argued this point 20 years ago with former Senator John Kyle and he was totally wrong as stated he could not do anything about these anchor babies without a constitutional amendment. Yes, Congress can do something with no automatic citizenship mandate and not entitled to any public benefits and deportation if come to this country illegally. To reward coming illegally to the U.S. is an outrage to our rightful U.S. Citizens. These are just a few to be implemented under real leadership.
